The sixth floor is used for the mental health and wellbeing centre and as a study area or quiet seating zone.
The mental health and well-being centre gives the youths a place to go if they may be struggling with anything. Experiencing something like homelessness and the trauma of what caused them to be placed in that situation can have a bigger and longer effect on one’s mental health. So having a place where the youths can go and talk to someone and it can be confidential allows them to work through the experiences they have witnessed or been through.
The centre is formed of 3 rooms. A general seating area with a small reception desk for keeping track of anything needed and then two quiet rooms. The quiet rooms can be used when people want to have one-to-ones, book them out for studying or if they just need a quiet place to reflect alone or with a friend.
The general theme not only for the centre but for the entire sixth floor is cosy. Neutral tones and warm tones but nothing bright and colourful as people can get easily distracted when there is something else to look at.

FF&E SCHEDULE
DESIGN ELEMENTS
Sustainable elements and materials will be used throughout the building. Wood, photovoltaic glass, cork, concrete and repurposed/reclaimed materials are used on every level of the building in many different ways.
PLANTS
There are lots of plants within the space as they help to create a sense of well-being and help purify the air within the space. There will be a living green wall placed in the unit as well as they are known for being beneficial to people’s mental health.
Living green walls on some floors, in different forms, are capable of purifying the air, reducing and regulating the ambient temperature, promoting biodiversity in the community and creating a sense of well-being.

LIGHTING
LED lighting will be used throughout the space as it is one of today’s most energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly lighting. It works well for decorating walls and adding fun touches to a build. Also, it is sustainable, has low maintenance and is a low energy-cost source of lighting for the unit. It can also be used in several different forms, meaning the space can be lit through decorative and practical units.
Squiggle lighting will also be used throughout the building to help direct people around the space. It is a dynamic curvilinear light system that flows with architectural design. You can choose curves of various radii, straight runs, and joiners to design a distinct light configuration that wraps around structural elements and becomes part of the architectural character.
